The day was getting on and we hadn't decided what was going to be for dinner. The kids were bouncing on the trampoline but they were fighting and some days just feel harder than others and I lack inspiration. There were a few sausages in the fridge that needed using up and a bit of celery, carrot and onion left. Jack suggested pasta but we had that for lunch so I found a little bit of polenta and started cooking. A meal that I thought would be average turned out to be one of the best meals l have had since returning from Greece. We had no stock and had herbs in the garden but sometimes it’s a stretch just getting herbs! Get the best sausages you can from a butcher, it makes the dish!
